About Us - Who Are We?

GBS/CIDP Support is a charity whose purpose is to support Australians affected by Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) and related conditions through a commitment to individual and group support, provision of information, education and research.

GBS/CIDP Support will:

  • support patients by nurturing a national network of volunteers to provide them with individual and group support services, including localised supports and services available

  • provide education seminars to medical professionals and allied health providers, especially those employed at hospitals, to raise awareness of these conditions and place them front of mind to promote early and accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment and knowledgeable support services for people affected by GBS, CIDP and MMN

  • raise public awareness of these rare diseases through diverse events and technology platforms

  • fund grants for research to identify the causes of and discover treatments for these conditions.
