Our Mission and Vision
The purpose of the GBS/CIDP Support association is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by GBS, CIDP, MMN and related conditions.
We support patients by nurturing a national network of volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and industry partners to provide them with critical, timely and accurate information.
We educate doctors, clinicians, allied health professionals, patients and caregivers to increase awareness and understanding.
We will fund research through grants and other appropriate avenues to identify the causes of these conditions and discover treatments.
2024 - 2027 Strategic Plan
Patient and Caregiver Support: Identify and address the unmet needs of both patients and caregivers by providing education and support. This includes building a network of volunteers to visit inpatients when possible and leveraging a variety of resources and technology platforms to offer continuous support and information.

Build Diverse Revenue Sources: Over the next three years, establish a robust revenue framework, starting with a focus on researching and securing government grants to create a stable foundation. Following this, expand opportunities through fundraising events and encourage private donations to diversify and strengthen financial support.

Research Portfolio: Within three years, the foundation will have key relationships and a framework to support the advancement and secure the future of GBS, CIDP, MMN and related conditions research and care with current and future medical professionals, including the establishment of medical, allied health and caregiver panels.

Association Framework and Expansions: Establish the organisation’s presence and develop a functional framework throughout Australia, through the use of volunteer engagement, strategic consultants and shared and translated resources.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity: Over the next three years and into the future, the organisation will be intentional in reflecting the community we serve and understanding their needs, especially those of the First Nations peoples and under-supported communities, resulting in better access to information, resources, diagnosis, and treatment.
